# The Weekend Lineup: April 10-12

By Amelia Early, Central Florida editor · Updated April 10, 2026
Fri

Friday

Fri 5:00 PM EDT

The annual Lake County Fair rolls through April 19 with rides, livestock exhibits, food vendors, and live entertainment every night. Gates open at 5 PM on weekdays (1 PM on weekends) and rides run until about 10:30. Friday is a great day to beat the Saturday crowds, and the nightly grandstand shows start at 7:30. If you have not been in a few years, the whole setup has leveled up -- more food trucks, better rides, and a craft beer tent that was not there before.

Fri 3:00 PM EDT

Friday afternoon polo is one of the best-kept secrets in The Villages. Spring season matches run every Friday at 3 PM through May. Bring a lawn chair and a cooler -- it is surprisingly great spectating and completely free. The club is off County Road 466 near Lake Sumter Landing and parking is easy.

Fri 5:00 PM EDT

Your favorite hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s with a high-energy band that knows how to work a crowd. All four town squares have live music tonight: Rocky and The Rollers at Lake Sumter Landing, Bobby Blackmon & The B3 Band at Brownwood, and Scooter The DJ at Sawgrass Grove. Zee-R Band plays Eastport at 6 PM.

Fri 6:30 PM EDT

Free concert in the park featuring 1940s jump and swing with blues. Street market vendors and food trucks round it out, and the vibe on a warm Friday evening at this bandshell is genuinely special. Brooksville is doing Friday nights right -- this series has been drawing bigger crowds every month.

Fri 10:00 AM EDT

If you have kids (or just really like turtles), the park staff at Dade Battlefield are putting on gopher tortoise games, activities, and a guided walk. It is genuinely fun and educational -- and the park itself is worth the drive to Bushnell. The battlefield trail is one of the most underrated short hikes in Sumter County.

Fri 5:00 PM EDT

The 60-minute musical adaptation of the Disney film, with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa'i, and Mark Mancina. A great family option if the town squares are not your speed tonight. Tickets have been moving fast.

Sat

Saturday

Sat 8:00 AM EDT

Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, and everything Mopar. The car show and swap meet runs all day at Florida Horse Park in Ocala. If you are into classic American muscle, this is your Saturday. The swap meet usually has parts you cannot find anywhere online, and the vendor row wraps around the entire arena parking area.

Sat 9:00 AM EDT
Lake Weir

Sailboat racing on Lake Weir -- a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning in Ocala. Even if you are not a sailor, watching from the shore with a coffee is peak weekend energy. The Harpoon class is a blast to watch -- small boats, big competition, and a lot of shouting.

Sat 9:00 AM EDT

The weekly Saturday market in downtown Ocala with local produce, baked goods, crafts, and live music. Girls Night Out is the theme this week -- special vendors, a DJ, and a few surprises. This is consistently one of the best farmers markets in the region. Get there by 9:30 if you want the good bread.

Sat 8:00 AM EDT
Clermont

Walk or run for a cause in Clermont. Mothers Against Drunk Driving is one of the most effective advocacy organizations in the country, and this is a meaningful way to start your Saturday. The course runs through downtown Clermont with lakeside views.

Sat 6:30 AM EDT
[Phoenix Bass Fishing League

Tournament fishing on the Harris Chain out of Venetian Gardens in Leesburg. Even if you are not competing, watching the weigh-in in the afternoon is surprisingly entertaining. The Harris Chain continues to produce monster bass this spring.

Sat time TBA
Town Square Saturday Night

All five squares are live again Saturday evening. Entertainment starts at 5:00 PM across Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, Brownwood, Sawgrass, and Eastport. Check villacalalineup.com/events for the full band lineup.

Sun

Sunday

Sun 2:30 PM EDT

The Opry in The Villages brings together tribute artists for a high-energy afternoon show. This is one of the best live entertainment venues in Central Florida and it is right in our backyard. The Opry seats about 900 and they regularly sell out, so do not wait on tickets if you are interested.

Sun 3:00 PM EDT

The Ocala Symphony Orchestra performs an all-American program of Bernstein, Gershwin, and Copland. If you have not been to Reilly yet, this is your excuse -- the acoustics in that room are incredible, and the orchestra has been on a serious run this season.

Sun 3:00 PM EDT
Downtown Mount Dora

A stroll through Mount Dora with ice cream stops and your dog. That is literally the description, and honestly, what more do you need? The route goes through the downtown shops and along the lakefront. Bring a leash and a big appetite.

Sun 12:00 PM EDT
Renninger's Antique Center

Monthly car show and live music at Renninger's in Mount Dora. Classic cars, good tunes, and the antique market to browse afterward. April usually brings out the convertibles, and the vendor area is worth a full lap.

That's the weekend.
