June 26–28in & around Coastal Alabama & Northwest Florida
The coast is in full summer swing the weekend before the Fourth. Supernova brings Oasis's biggest anthems to Soul Kitchen Friday, the Firecracker 5K runs Seville Quarter Saturday morning, and the Pensacola Blues Festival closes it out Sunday afternoon. Beach in between, naturally -- and the forecast is on your side, upper 80s with wall-to-wall sun Saturday and Sunday and barely a raincloud after a stray Friday-morning sprinkle. Sunscreen, water, repeat.
Thursday
Beachfront games to kick the weekend off early -- the kind of low-key, toes-in-the-sand afternoon that's the whole reason you're down here. Easy with kids, easy with a drink in hand.
Friday
Wonderwall, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova -- the full Oasis catalog, loud, in a real music hall. With the band's reunion year in the air, the room's going to sing every word back. Doors at 7:30.
Saturday
A pre-Fourth run through historic Seville Quarter, early enough to beat the heat. Lace up, then reward yourself with the rest of a slow Saturday on the coast.
The brewery goes full tiki for the day -- island drinks, the works. A fun, unserious Saturday hang if the beach has worn you out and you want shade and a cold one.
Sunday
The weekend's marquee. Kat Riggins, The Shaelyn Band, Frank Bang, Chris Vincent, and a youth showcase fill the Phineas Phogg's courtyard for an afternoon of real blues. The kind of Sunday that turns into the best part of the weekend.
That's the weekend.
