About The Lineup

The Lineup is a local publication, not a directory. We cover the Chattanooga metro area the way someone who actually lives here would tell you about it — what's worth your night, which room you'll want to sit in, and what's happening this week that you'd be glad you didn't miss.

Every market gets its own edition, its own editor, and its own point of view. We write about places because they're good, not because they paid us — see our editorial standards.

What we do

We read the city for you: a curated directory of the places worth knowing, an events calendar that's actually edited, and a weekly note from the editor's desk. The goal is fewer tabs, better nights.

Why a τ?

The mark is the Greek letter tau, set in a square — time, contained.

You get about three thousand weekends in your adult life. Most of them you'll spend close to home, in the place you actually live. The Lineup exists for those weekends — so the good ones don't slip past while you're scrolling, and so "there's nothing to do around here" stops being a thing you say.

A few thousand weekends

This is roughly a year of them.

Each τ is a weekend. About three thousand in your adult life — that's the whole reason The Lineup exists.

That's the whole idea. Spend them well.
